WATCH: Replica of the Statue of Liberty topples due to strong winds in Guaíba, Brazil

The X post from @BNODesk shows a dramatic video of a **24-meter-tall replica of the Statue of Liberty** toppling over due to strong winds during a severe storm in **Guaíba, Brazil** (near Porto Alegre, in Rio Grande do Sul state) on **December 15, 2025**.

### Key Details:

- The replica is a trademark landmark of the Brazilian retail chain **Havan** (owned by businessman Luciano Hang), installed in front of their megastore in 2020.

- Wind gusts exceeded **90 km/h** (some reports say 80-100 km/h), accompanied by heavy rain and hail across the region.

- The statue slowly tilted and collapsed into the parking lot. The 11-meter concrete base remained intact.

- **No injuries** were reported—store staff quickly cleared the area and moved vehicles, following safety protocols.

- The incident went massively viral (over 6.6 million views on the original post), with reactions full of humor and irony:

  - Many pointed out it fell right next to a **McDonald's** whose golden arches stayed standing perfectly ("The real symbol of America endures!").

  - Memes about "Trump's America," ominous signs, or album covers flooded replies.

Havan confirmed the structure had proper engineering certifications and has launched an internal investigation. Similar replicas exist at other Havan stores nationwide.
